Public and Private Espionage đ
You are being watched on a level you canât even imagine
You all know which government organization I started working for. I have learned a lot since I started in October. Our data is stored on databases you have never even heard of.
For the first month, I had to drive nearly 2 hours to another state for training. So for nearly 4 hours a day, I was driving. It gave me a lot of time to listen to former CIA agents talking about the various means and methods the public and private sector uses to spy on every day Americans.
There are so many layers of surveillance that escaping exposure would literally mean disconnecting from the internet altogether. I have spent over 10 years of my life working on a solution to bring TRUE privacy to the American people. How strong can your house be when the wood you use to build it is full of termites?
This is the reality I have come to understand. The internet protocols. The technologies. The ISP policies. They are ALL designed to monitor you. Letâs start at ground zero. Who built the internet? DARPA. For the unlearned, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. They are the brainchild of the Department of War.
When my family accepted this assignment to the Southwest, I started making preparations to go dark. When I mean dark, I mean covering our digital trails so the bad actors I was fighting in cyber security wouldnât find us out here. That failed spectacularly.
I signed up for a new service which helps scrub your identity which has been leaked online OR bought and sold by data brokers. My identity was being bought and sold by over 100 organizations. I also learned that smartphones can pick up a special sound emitted from smart TVâs that let advertisers know you saw an advertisement. I am transitioning away from a smartphone. The phone is on backorder. I will let you all know which phone at a later time.
The federal government has access to your social media. The only advice I can give is to remove social media apps from your cellphone. I am not saying become a ludite and delete your social media, I am saying remove it from your phone.
Some social media apps are worse than others. Donât share sensitive data on social media even if itâs for private audiences. End to End encryption is great but there are methods that bypass it through notifications and/or apps that read the screen. Like I said, how strong can a house be if the wood is full of termites.
Ignorance is bliss and I hate to hold this knowledge. I would venture to say nearly everyone of my subscribers care about privacy. Why else would they still be tuned in after 10 years of me pursuing this dream? I am in the process of trying to figure out how to still provide a âprivateâ service which delivers utility.
I just invested in some more software which will hopefully give me some clarity as to how I can make it across the finish line. I appreciate you all.
On a more personal note, the new job isnât working out so great. Itâs not at all what they made it out to be. My first 3 days on the job put me in a very dark place mentally. Veterans, you know what I mean. I reached out to HR and explained the job was very bad for my mental health and I needed reassignment. The Watch Commander pulled me off the OPS floor and thanked me for disclosing my mental health struggles. They are trying to find me another position within the organization. I also learned I am not the only Veteran this has happened to. The person I replaced was also a Veteran who applied for the role thinking it was for intel when in fact it is not. He was reassigned to DC. I am now awaiting my fate to see where I will be headed. When I approached my supervisor about the fact the job isnât what itâs advertised to be, she said, âYouâre not the first person to say thatâ. I paraphrased what she said but that is what she meant.
I know G-d sent me over here for a divine reason. Maybe it was for the sole purpose of learning what I now know?
I donât know what my future holds but I know who holds my future.
