Is there a light at the end of this tunnel?
I know I haven’t posted an update in a while. I’ve been working ridiculous hours. As most of you all are aware, our economy is not doing too great. I’m actually working 3 jobs to support my family right now.
Mass Address is now in a holding pattern. The reason is simple. We need at least $2500 to get the Mass Address servers back online. I could probably raise $1000 just by selling the hardware from the prototype. A Raspberry pi on eBay is going for around $100. I have 12 of them. This also doesn’t include the CISCO switch.
Being an entrepreneur is not all sunshine and rainbows. Most people just see the fame and glory after a startup finds success. They don’t see the blood, sweat, and tears it takes to build one. My family comes first. I have to make sure they are taken care of before funding Mass Address. 6 months ago I could afford the $500 a month it took to keep Mass Address going. This is not the case any longer.
The company is going into maintenance mode until I can either raise enough funding or my own personal income levels get back to where they were 6 months ago.
I want to be clear. Mass Address isn’t going anywhere. It’s just being tied up to the dock right now. We can’t afford to put gas in the engines if you know what I mean.
Many people like to attack Elon Musk and Jeff Bezo’s for the vast amounts of wealth they have accumulated. Let me assure you, if they have suffered the same amount I have working on Citizen Identity Management, they deserve every dollar and then some. This road is hard and it’s not for the weak.
There are no guarantees in this life. There is no guarantee the American people will even accept my solution to ending identity exploitation. I’m not going to let fear determine my destiny. My work is very important. Some may not see it right now. That’s ok. One day they will.
Some people like to hide what’s going on in their Startup. I’m not one of those people. I am honest. I am transparent. This is real life involving real people. The road to glory is strewn with the bodies of startups who quit. If you never quit, you will either find success or it’s no longer your problem.
